Klapa Ivo Lozica carries forward the rich musical heritage of Dalmatia, representing the authentic spirit of traditional Croatian a cappella singing. Recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, klapa singing reflects centuries of coastal tradition and community. Founded in 2019, our klapa honors the legacy of Ivo Lozica and the historical Koludrt tradition dating back to 1972.

Our performances capture the essence of Dalmatian culture, featuring traditional songs that have been passed down through generations. Each performance is a journey through the musical soul of Croatia, delivered with passion and authenticity that resonates with audiences of all backgrounds.

Based in the historic town of Korčula, we offer intimate performances that showcase the beauty of klapa singing in its most natural setting. Our repertoire includes both traditional Dalmatian songs and contemporary arrangements that honor our musical roots.

Milestones in preserving Dalmatian musical heritage

1929

The founding of the Lumbarda Marching Band

In 1929, members of the Lumbarda community came together to found the first marching band, which formed the base of the Ivo Lozica Cultural Association. Today the association has over 130 members, and includes a folklore dance group as well as the band and klapa Ivo Lozica.

1972

Koludrt Founding

Lumbarda's first klapa, Koludrt, formed as part of the Ivo Lozica Foundation, kicking off a tradition that lives on today.

2019

Klapa Ivo Lozica Founded

The first lineup of the mixed Klapa Ivo Lozica was formed, bringing together voices to continue the Dalmatian musical tradition.

2023

Omiš Festival - Silver Shield

Recognition of our excellence at the prestigious Omiš Festival of Dalmatian Klapa.

2024

Omiš Festival - Gold Shield

A proud milestone as we earned the Gold Shield at the Omiš Festival, our first gold award.

2025

Omiš Festival - Gold Shield & Gold Leut

Our greatest achievement yet — winning both the jury’s Gold Shield and the audience’s Gold Leut at the Omiš Festival. A rare double honor that places us among the most celebrated klapas.
